Moco Reconnect GED Programming

Our General Educational Development (GED) program goes beyond preparing students for the exam by integrating social justice and life skill themes to develop their knowledge base and cultivate empowerment through reflection and investigation of their larger social environment. We believe this method empowers youth as agents in their learning as well as their lives and communities.

In a typical GED class at Moco Reconnect , students participate in engaging, interactive activities and the type of instruction that accommodates different learning styles and student needs. Practice tests are given to assess students’ academic readiness. As students demonstrate preparedness, our educational team guides them through each step of the test process.  The educational team also keeps students informed of other professional, educational, and social opportunities available to them.

Moco Reconnect Case Management

Each student enrolled in Moco Reconnect programming will also be assigned a case manager.  case managers are youth development workers, mentors who work intentionally and deliberately to build transforming relationships with disconnected youth. The Case Manager is responsible for providing services and referrals, support and follow-up over an extended period of time to our youth. The case manager will provide mentoring, skill development, guidance, and advocacy so that each youth achieves the goals of increased academic success, transition to work, and improvement in healthy behaviors.
